Exim is one of the many brands that likely disappeared during the Quartz Crisis; because of this, very little information can be found about the manufacturer. Yet, it definitely made some interesting watches, as evidenced by this Exim "De Luxe" chronograph. The combination of reverse panda dial, oversized handset, and waterproof caseback is something you rarely see. And on the wrist, it works great, with a size and look that are completely on point even today.

What we Love and What You Should Know

The stainless-steel tonneau case is in great condition, and does not show any deep scratches on its case bands. The caseback still features deep engravings, which highlight its waterproofness up to 600 feet. The crown is unsigned, but the same has been observed on similar chronographs. The panda dial is in overall good condition; the applied lume displays some aging, while the white sub-registers remain free of imperfections. The same lume aging can be observed on the handset, and the lume plot is missing on the bi-directional rotating bezel. The Landeron chronograph caliber works well; its stop and reset commands are activated with the lower pusher, a technical specificity to know before operating this chrono.
