The Datejust is one of the most iconic Rolex watches. It’s been around since 1945 and has been slowly evolving for many decades, in the slow-and-steady, if-it-ain’t-broke-don’t-fix-it fashion so characteristic of Rolex (and which many feel is one of Rolex’s greatest assets). The one you see here is from around 1982, and while it may look like your run-of-the-mill, stainless-steel Datejust with Jubilee bracelet, it isn’t. Take a closer look, and you will see that it is fitted with Rolex’s very refined linen-finish dial, which is not often found in such good condition. The fluted bezel and case edges are wonderfully crisp, and overall, this watch presents extremely well, offering a very handsome variation indeed on the basic Datejust. The dial is pristine, however you might notice that there are some scratches to the plexiglass crystal – this is normal and superficial scratches on plastic watch crystals can easily be polished out. The lume dots are full and show no signs of bruising, which is a huge plus. Additionally, the bracelet is in good condition (with some stretching).
