1968 Omega De Ville Chronograph Ref. 141.009-67 In 18k Yellow Gold

Why This Watch Matters

This solid 18k yellow gold De Ville chrono is powered by the cal. 320, the two register brother of Omega's famous cal. 321.

The Full Story

The De Ville collection was started by Omega in 1960 to sit between the dressier yet capable Constellation and the capable yet dressy Seamaster. Over the next two decades, the De Ville name found its way onto some great watches from Omega, although being seen as a bit of a third-tier option at the time. Sure, De Villes are often gold-plated and had a lower price point than Connies and Seamasters but the movements were always top tier and if you can find them in great condition like this one, there is a ton of value here. Uncommon for a De Ville, the ref. 141.009-67 features a solid 18k yellow gold case.

This example is really crisp with a great dial and a nice yellow gold case that shows a bit of patina that is warm and inviting. This is a great watch that we are proud to offer but sad to see leave the office. You may know the Omega caliber 321, the one that powered the early Speedmasters that went into space and was recently revived by the brand. Well, this vintage chronograph features a caliber 320, the two register brother of the 321.

We paired this De Ville with our Aged leather strap in hunter green to complete the look.

What We Love And What You Should Know

Things We Love:

- Clean overall condition
- Applied Omega logo
- Caliber 320 inside

Things To Know:

- Scratches on case
- Case has been polished

This Seamaster De Ville is in overall great condition. The case is nice with some scratches and signs of previous polishing. There is some patina generally and concentrated between the pushers and the crown. The caseback and rear of the lugs have a few scratches. The hallmark on the nine o'clock side of the case is visible.

The dial has developed a fine and consistent patina throughout. The edges of the registers show some signs of light wear. The center of the watch has minor wear. The hour markers and hands have developed patina. The lume on the dial has developed patina and aged to a pleasing creamy color. The plots show some signs of degradation. The lume on the hands shows similar patina and matches well.

The crystal has some scratches. The dial, crown, case, and movement are all signed by Omega. This watch was photographed on a 175mm/6.9inch wrist.
